Can I charge an electric or hybrid car on my pitch?
Charging electric or hybrid cars within the campsite is prohibited, but there are adequate charging stations in the immediate vicinity.
We have reserved with a school class or sports group, is half-board or full-board possible?
For schools and groups, the restaurant on the campsite is happy to provide breakfast, special lunch and dinner menus, please contact and reserve in advance.
How late is the minishop open?
It has the same hours as the restaurant. The mini shop sells only necessary products.
Can I order bread in the morning?
You can order bread in the restaurant one day in advance.
How can I pay in the restaurant?
All major cards, CHF or Euro.
Do you have a restaurant?
We have a very good restaurant directly on the campsite with daily and a la carte menus, it’s always good to reserve in advance.
Are there any cycle routes?
There are not many cycle paths around the campsite but it is a good starting point if you want to cycle in our beautiful mountains.
Where can I go hiking?
Excursions can be made to the various mountains near the campsite.
For example: Monte Generoso, Monte San Salvatore, Monte Bré and many others….
I would like to go out with my bicycle, can I take it on public transport?
Yes, if you have a Ticino Ticket, you can get a special half-price ticket, that you can buy online or at the bus stop before boarding.
Where can I take the boat?
You can find all the necessary information at www.lakelugano.ch.
Where can I do my shopping in the area?
There are several grocery shops (Migros, Denner), a pharmacy and a petrol station with shops open until 22.00 not far from the campsite.
Are there swimming pools nearby?
Yes, in Mendrisio and Bissone, they can be reached in a few minutes by public transport.
How can I view train/ bus timetables?
At https://www.sbb.ch/it/ or on the SBB mobile app.
Where is the station?
The Melano-Maroggia railway station can be reached in about 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the campsite. A convenient bus stop is located directly on the main road just a few metres away.
How can I get the digital Ticino Ticket?
In order to obtain the Ticino Ticket in digital format, you must have an email address and a smartphone. Once you have downloaded the Ticino Ticket web app, you have to register and enter the activation code that will be communicated to you upon arrival at our facility. After that you can fill in your Ticino Ticket yourself and activate it directly in the web app.
Thanks to Ticino Ticket you can use all public transport free of charge for the entire duration of your stay, benefit from discounts on ski lifts, boats in the Swiss lakes and the main tourist attractions throughout the Canton.
I would like to leave my vehicle or camper van parked on the campsite, can I get around easily?
If you are staying at the campsite, you can use public transport throughout the region free of charge. Simply apply for a Ticino Ticket at the reception desk, the staff are on hand.
Can I swim in the whole campsite?
Yes, the lake has a natural shoreline and is unsupervised, each camper personally supervises his or her children and assumes all responsibility in case of accident or endangerment.
What time can I leave in the morning?
For those who wish to leave very early, it is possible to leave as early as 06.00 a.m., provided that the stay is paid for the day before.
How long will the identity card be kept?
Your identity card or other identification document must be handed in at check-in so that the authorities can be notified of your stay at the campsite. It is normally held for the necessary time, normally 1 or 2 hours, then handed back.
Wifi password? How far does it work?
The wifi has no password. It is limited to the reception and restaurant area.
Is there a size limit for campers or caravans?
There is no length limit but the height is limited to 3.40m due to the subway at the entrance to the campsite. For lengths over 9m, a double pitch can be rented on request.
Do you take groups?
We only take groups or school classes by prior arrangement, which must be made in advance via the appropriate page on the website.
Does the barrier have a code?
The barrier is freely open from 8:00 to 11:30 and from 13:30 to 20:00.
Do I need tokens for the shower?
Showers and hot water are included in the rate and are free.
Are the toilets open at night?
Yes, the toilets are always open and are cleaned regularly by our staff.
Is there a family bathroom available?
Yes, we have a family bathroom with a changing table, baby bath, shower and WC. The key is available at reception until 20.00 at the latest.
Can I use my own rubbish bags?
No, under cantonal law you may only use official rubbish bags. The bags are handed out when you check in and can be requested at any time during reception hours. The rubbish bags must be placed in the green containers along the road near the car park.
Should I have to sort the waste?
Yes, there are containers for ALU/ Plastic bottles/ Glass/ Paper on the campsite.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are not allowed on the campsite.
Do all pitches have electricity?
Electricity is only available on pitches in green, yellow, blue and violet zones. limited to 6 amps
Where can I empty grey water?
Near the main toilets there is a dedicated area (blue drain on the street).
Where can I fill my motorhome with water?
There are several water taps scattered around the campsite.
Is the water drinkable?
The water is drinkable throughout the campsite.
Can I grill on the campsite?
Yes, it is only possible with your raised gas or charcoal grill as long as it does not damage trees or the lawn and the smoke does not disturb the campers. For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to light fires on the ground or of any kind on the entire campsite.
Do you accept school classes or groups?
We only take school classes or sports groups by reservation, in all cases a written request must be made via the online form on our website.
From what age can I come to the campsite?
We are a family campsite, you must be at least 18 years old to stay overnight, minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay.
Do you rent bungalows/ tents/ rooms?
Neither bungalows, tents, rooms or cottages are rented on the campsite, only pitches.
Can I extend/shorten my stay? By when should I inform reception?
In the event of late arrival and/or early departure, the full amount due for the booked stay must be paid. An extension of the stay is possible by checking availability with the reception personnel.
How can I pay?
You can pay comfortably with the main electronic cards, in CHF, Euro according to the current exchange rate, we do not accept Reka.
Is it possible to spend the night in the car park if I arrive late at night?
The campsite does not have an off-peak parking area, the barriers are blocked, in any case it is forbidden to stay overnight outside the campsite.
How big are the pitches?
Pitches are of different sizes depending on the area, normally they are about 8m x 8m, larger pitches are limited.
We travel by train. How far is your campsite from the train station?
The railway station is 600m from the campsite. There are regular bus services with a stop near the campsite.
We are two couples and would like to come with 2 cars and two small tents. Can we only occupy one plot?
Unfortunately not. According to the regulations a plot can only be occupied by 1 car with a tent, or 1 camper van, or a caravan. An extra igloo tent (max. height 1.50 m) can only be set up for children under 16.
Can we put 2 small campers on the same pitch?
No, normally, the pitch is calculated to have its own space, comfort and privacy between campers.
Can I stay on the car park and leave in the afternoon?
On the day of check-out, the pitch must be vacated by 11.30 a.m., for a possible late departure in the afternoon after 12.00 p.m., availability must be checked in good time and if vacated, an additional night will be invoiced.
Can I make a pit stop for a few hours on the campsite?
Yes, if you are interested in stopping over for a few hours, you can request a pit stop, which is a great way to get your family back on the road. By registering at reception, you will receive a pitch and benefit from the services, playground and catering offered by the campsite. This stopover is only limited until 18:00, after which the night is charged.
Are you an ACSI, ADAC, TCS partner, are there any discounts?
We want to treat all our guests equally, there are no discounts for affiliates or association members and we do not accept ACSI Cards or Best Deal Cards.
If I cannot arrive by the check-in deadline, what chance do I have if I have reserved?
Upon arrival, park in the check-in area, go to the reception and show your booking confirmation and ID, Reception is only open until 20:00. If you are running late, you can call and ask for your assigned pitch number, so you have the opportunity to enter and take the pitch even after closing time, which is possible until 10 p.m.
Can I arrive after 20:00?
Outside reception hours, it is only possible to arrive with a confirmed reservation, spontaneous arrivals only until 7 p.m.
What should I do if I arrive before 14:00?
We advise everyone not to arrive before 14:00, as the reception is closed and you will have to wait.
What are the first and last check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 14.00, the pitch reservation is valid until 18.00 on the day of arrival. If you arrive later than that, please let us know via our website chat. On the day of departure, check-out for pitches is until 11.30 am.

For a one-night stay, can I make a reservation?
For a single night we take reservations, payment in advance is requested to make arrival more flexible and to keep the pitch free.
Do I have to pay a deposit for the booking?
Yes, you are asked to pay a deposit that will be deducted from the final invoice for your stay, this is to make your arrival more flexible and to keep your pitch free.
How can I reserve a specific place: plot number?
If you have made a booking, the pitch number will be allocated on arrival. If you have indicated a preference for the number, we will do our best to accommodate your request, but it is not guaranteed to be allocated. However, you can always check availability and have another pitch allocated when you check in
Can I book a pitch?
Yes, it is possible at any time conveniently online on our website. Our website chat answers information or special requests during the office hours that are listed on our website.
Is it possible to arrive without a reservation?
Yes, in the hours between 14.00 and 18.00 it is possible to arrive without a reservation, normally we almost always have pitches, even just for one night, however it is recommended to request availability on the day of arrival by contacting the reception, or better through the Chat on our website.
Can I ask for availability and prices without booking?
For online bookings, you can request availability and prices without obligation, and then switch to a reservation.
